Software Tester, Cambridge

My client, a growing Cambridge based Software house is looking for an additional software tester to join their test team.  They are a company that takes testing seriously.  Their software is cutting edge and their approach to testing has to be too.  They create products that can learn dynamically, that have to scale horizontally to thousands of transactions per second and that just have to work.

 

So if you’re an experienced QA professional with experience implementing repeatable, automated testing solutions against distributed data-intensive applications written predominantly in Microsoft technology then you will be very interesting to my client.

 

 

The primary objectives of your role will be:

In depth testing of applications

Design and Replicate enterprise customer environments

 

Your responsibilities will be:

Ensure requirements met - risk based prioritisation of test effort

Appropriate automation of test from component based to full distributed systems

Performance and scalability profiling

Software robustness, availability and reliability in inconsistent data environments

Diagnose, communicate and take ownership of issues

Liaise with Internal and External teams

 

You will be expected to have the following skills

Technical, analytical and able to quickly pick up new technologies

Strong, clear, concise communication skills

Setup and configuration of enterprise Microsoft environments  (some Linux experience desirable)

SOA , TCP/IP with diagnostic skills, firewalls/routers, load balancers

Development ability (past C# .Net experience desirable)

Automation skills including construction of test harnesses
